What if you could become happier and improve your mood based on information from your genes?

If you’re sad, down, or unhappy, your genes could be 50% responsible

One of the hallmarks of depression is a malfunction of the stress response system (HPA axis dysfunction), often mislabeled as “Adrenal Fatigue”.

Under this plan, you can purchase an Introductory DNA Wellness Report for $49, or order one of our specialized DNA Wellness Reports for $59 each.

What happens after I order my DNA Wellness Report?

After you purchase your DNA Wellness Report, you will be redirected to a page where you can upload your genetic data. You’ll then be able to download your report under the “Wellness Reports” tab.

Can I see a sample of what is included in a DNA Wellness Report?

Yes! You can look at a sample report using Joe Cohen’s DNA data here.

Where should I get my genes tested?

If you're getting your genes tested for the first time, we recommend ordering one of our specially-designed SelfDecode testing kits here. We have specially curated the SNPs tested by our chip to ensure that you get the most value out of SelfDecode and our DNA Wellness Reports

However, you can also use data from other companies! To ensure that everyone can benefit from our DNA Wellness Reports, we always make sure to include plenty of SNPs that are also available on chips from other companies (such as 23andMe, Ancestry.com and FamilyTreeDNA). So if you’ve already gotten your genes sequenced by another service, don’t worry: you will still have enough SNP coverage to get plenty of value out of your DNA Wellness Reports!

What if the most important SNPs are not included in my genome file?

We have specifically selected the SNPs and genes featured in our reports to be compatible with all of the most popular genotyping chips.

In addition, our proprietary SelfDecode polygenic risk score algorithm enables us to make the best out of whatever genetic information you have on file -- even if it’s missing some SNPs!

Therefore, no matter where you got your genome sequenced, SelfDecode’s DNA Wellness Reports will be able to help identify your unique genetic strengths and weaknesses, as well as give you personalized recommendations to fix or improve them even further.

How do I know my data is secure?

We take your privacy and data security very seriously. This is why we employ multiple layers of data protection, including:

  • Secured data encryption
  • Restricting internal access to any personally-identifying information

The key to improving your mood and happiness is to identify the problems within the network of genetic pathways that worsen your mood, and attack them systematically rather than taking a one-size-fits-all remedy.

To achieve happiness and good mood, your neurotransmitters need to be well balanced with each other. Any imbalance caused by chronic inflammation, poor circadian rhythm, or stress can throw off your mood.

The SelfDecode Mood DNA Wellness Report profiles 165 of the most influential SNPs in 92 genes (supported by 260 PubMed references) that may predispose you to the following neurotransmitter imbalances:

Your unique genetics, along with symptoms of possible neurotransmitter imbalances, can help you uncover key issues that may lead to poor mood and cognitive function. Aside from a breakdown of your SNPs, you will also receive gene-based recommendations to optimize your neurotransmitters.

Your degree of sensitivity to oxytocin (the “hug” hormone/neurotransmitter) and endocannabinoids influence how well you maintain emotional balance in response to stress.

Oxytocin is a major brain hormone (neuropeptide) that plays many roles, including lowering the stress response and promoting good mood. Versions of the oxytocin gene that function better are associated with greater ability to tolerate stress.
If you can handle stress better, your mood will generally improve.

Having higher FAAH gene activity means that cannabinoids -- your natural bliss molecules -- are broken down more quickly, reducing the overall activity of your brain’s endocannabinoid system. Because this system plays a key role in counteracting the stress response and enhancing mood, carriers of risk alleles in this gene are more likely to experience mood problems. Therefore, you may be able to counteract your risk by inhibiting the FAAH gene, as well as by increasing the activity of your cannabinoid system in general.

Activating neurotransmitters like dopamine and acetylcholine could boost your motivation and feelings of happiness. On the other hand, Low levels of these neurotransmitters could result in low mood and motivation.

It Covers Important Genes using SelfDecode’s Deep Science Research

In addition, many other reports use questionable science. This mood report is based on findings from more than 250 independent scientific studies and was written by a neuroscientist, with the help of biohacking expert Joe Cohen and others.

To our knowledge, this is the first report of its kind that covers the most important genes related to mood and is the most comprehensive genetic report on this subject available. Other companies include anywhere from 1-20 SNPs, whereas our reports cover a whopping 165 SNPs!

SelfDecode Polygenic Risk Scores TM

Most importantly, we devised a proprietary algorithm to predict your polygenic risk scores, which take into account the information from all of your SNPs rather than analyzing them individually.

Not only is this the most comprehensive and highest quality report on the market, it's also one of the most affordable. Similar reports can cost hundreds, even thousands, of dollars.
